Yvonne continually strives to immerse herself in her creative journey while embracing the various paths that lead her to new discoveries with new-found expression.
Color or rhythm within a given subject usually provides the impetus for the beginning of a piece and from there, the painting develops.
Her energetic brushstroke and line work, use of large brushes and palette knives, adding and subtracting paint, all aid in revealing new layers and provide movement within her art. Her goal is to create a balance of chaos and control and paint application is most appealing to her as the painting transforms in the process.
Her work can be seen at The Sporting Gent in Charlotte, and Home Heart and Soul in Cornelius.
